A true global citizen, disruptive thinker and digital optimist, Didier believes that digital technologies will have a profound impact on individuals, businesses and society. Didier was a precursor in anticipating the scale, and the likely transformational impact of the digital revolution that is sweeping through our economies.

​

Didier is Professor of Strategy & Innovation at IMD Business School. He has over 30 years’ experience consulting and advising boards of large organizations make the shift to the new digital economy. Didier’s research interest is at the intersection of technology and business, with a focus on strategy development, globalization, internet & digital economics as well as digital business transformation for large multinational corporations. For the last ten years, he has also led a joint research collaboration with the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE), at the Sloan School of Management, focused on researching how leading global organizations can successfully execute their digital transformations. At IMD Business School, Didier teaches, conducts research and advises on digital disruption, strategy and transformation to senior executives both in open and custom programs.

Didier is also a global practice leader - Digital Transformation, at Capgemini Invent. He started his career in high tech and strategy consulting and was the Global Leader of the Telecom, Media & Entertainment practice at Gemini Consulting for 15 years. Didier was recently voted “Global Digital Leader of the Year 2018” (CDO Conclave), one of the “Top 20 Digital Transformation Leaders to Follow in 2020” and a “Top 10 Global Thought Leaders & Influencers on Digital disruption” (Thinkers 360).

Didier has written numerous articles and is frequently quoted in the press, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and The Economist. He also regularly provides commentary for broadcasters such as the BBC, CNN, Reuters and CNBC. Didier graduated in business economics from a French “Grandes Ecoles” and earned his Doctorate from New College, University of Oxford. He is based in London.

 

Didier's pioneering work on digital transformation led to the best-selling book he co-authored with MIT’s Andrew McAfee and George Westerman: Leading Digital: Turning Technology into Business Transformation, published by Harvard Business Review Press.
